- Step 3: Inspect your home to rule out any potential leaks. Look around the house to see if any faucets or pipes are leaking.
- Step 4: Check the yard for wet spots and the outside house faucets for drips to rule out outside leaks.

What are the major benefits of using water meters?
Water metres calculate the speed of flow, the amount of water used. Many metres are used to calculate monthly water bills, while others are used to precisely quantify the volume of liquid that should be added to a product or operation. Understanding the Measuring Instruments Directive (MID)
The MID (Measuring Instruments Directive – 2004/22/CE) is a European Directive from 2004 that governs the use of measuring instruments and systems in commercial transactions. The directive’s aim is to strengthen consumer safety and safeguard their interests.
Active electrical energy meters (Appendix MI003 of the Directive), water meters, gas meters, thermal energy meters, weighing instruments, and other measuring instruments can be used.
For complete compliance with the Directive, regulatory labeling for meter traceability is required. This regulatory labeling includes, in addition to the manufacturer’s name and the product reference:

A reference to the Module D certification year of manufacture and notified body number, such as M11 – 1259 -
The meter’s serial number and a reference provided by the Notified Body certifying compliance with regard to the Module B specification inspection. -
In addition to this labelling, each commodity sold comes with a declaration of conformity.
